Solent Cellar Portfolio Tasting in Lymington, New Forest

Posted on

Amici di Bacco’s first consumer outing in the upmarket coastal town of Lymington was a roaring success.

Charles and Katharine showed six wines, billed as ‘Undiscovered Italy’ in the tasting catalogue. By far and away the favourite on the stand was Bonelli’s Ortrugo and according to Simon and Heather, owners of the Solent Cellar, it was the most popular wine in the whole room on the night.

The word spread like wildfire as people came to our stand asking for ‘the fizzy white wine’ and they were not disappointed. Other wines on the stand included Bonelli’s organic Colli Piacentini Trebbianino and Gutturnio Reserva, Gabriele Scaglione’s Roero Arneis ‘Ottimo con Pesce’ and Ioppa’s Uva Rara and Vespolina Coda Rossa.

All of the wines showed really well and plenty of orders were taken on the night. The Solent Cellar is Lymington’s only independent wine merchant.
